ABOUT US
The Boston Modern Big Band is Boston's Premiere Jazz Orchestra. Founded in 2024, the ensemble performs a wide range of classic big band hits and cutting edge charts form contemporary jazz composers. We are dedicated to contributing exhilarating, popular, and innovative performances to New England's rich music scene. Tim Moyer
Founder and Director
Tim founded the Boston Modern Big Band in 2024 to create a space where great musicians with a love and appreciation for jazz music could share the stage with one another and their gifts with the Boston arts community.
Tim is an active performer with his church worship band, the saxophone quartet Boxtet, and the Metropolitan Wind Symphony, New England's premiere Wind Ensemble. He currently serves as the Director of Bands at Georgetown Middle/High School in Georgetown, MA.
